Most of the anti trans bigotry that I see on the sharty tends to fall into one of a few categories. 1: outright dismissal and a complete inability to take our points seriously, or 2: A fundamental misunderstanding of transgender realities and existence. Considering the amount of time so many of you spend harassing trans people and freaking out about contrived moral panics, I figured I'd do you all a favor and shed some light on what really motivates an individual to be trans. A lot of people who knew my previous self would ask me, "why did you transition?" "You were such a handsome guy!" And it's true - I was tall, conventionally attractive, and I was even pretty well endowed. What cisgender people don't realize however, is that it's not about being handsome or beautiful. It's about being ourselves. No matter how much I matched people's idea of a perfect man, I couldn't even touch the level of happiness that I feel now. I understand that I'm flawed. My breasts are silicone, my womb is non-existent, and no amount of HRT can change my bone structure after experiencing male puberty, but I'd make the same decision to transition a million times over. What would you do if one day you woke up as a beautiful woman? Perhaps others would stare at you - at times even out of jealousy. But no doubt you'd feel out of place. It's not some crazy psyop. It's not da joos. It's not a fetish. It's just me, and it always has been. I have to admit, I laugh at troonella, -AACK, and other derogatory jokes too. A lot of us have actually have a healthy sense of humor. So don't feel like we're natural enemies. I happen to know quite a few trans friends who browse the sharty and they've probably 'jakked more than most of you. Well, that's all I wanted to say. And if there's one 'teen reading this who just found the confidence to transition and become their true self, know that we're with you and hope you all the best.
