I've seen a few self improvement threads around here this week that inspired me to make my own. I've been addicted to gooning since I was 13 and spend all day doomscrolling Plebbit and Instagram getting engagement farmed by 80 IQ Indians and literal bots. My rules are
-No gooning
-No social media
-Read once a day
-Study an hour or more per day
-Meditate morning and night
I have other goals I want to try and get done in these 21 days but these are the main ones.
I will post my progress at the end of each day in this thread. Anyone that wants to give tips or improve themselves is free to use this thread as well.

Day 1:
I studied for nearly the entire day because my math test is tomorrow
No urge to goon today
Tried going on Youtube 4 times, thankfully I had it blocked and managed to restrain myself
Read for 30 minutes
Meditated for 10 minutes in the morning and 10 in the night

So far I've been able to get some good momentum, hopefully this can last for the rest of the week

One thing I can say to help you is making you work on something, even just learning a language's basic stuff should keep the urge off as long as you are interested in the subject.

Just learn something you like in the free time so it is more "entertaining" than gooning.

Also I do not personally know if meditating does something.
One thing that I know doe is that being alone with your thoughts can be dangerous (and most of the time turn you into a tranx folk - almost happened to mi!).

Day 2:
Studied for the entire day again, got gaped on my math test anyway, hoping it gets curved
Read for 20 minutes
Meditated for 10 minutes

Day 5:
-Visited my parents for the weekend, which I think helped a lot with urges. Didn’t even think about gooning or going on Xitter or Plebbit
-Studied for a bit but mostly read for the day

I haven’t gone to church as much since I’ve entered uni, but I went today and found out that lent started on the exact day I started my detox. I’m of course going to continue with my goals, but I’m extending it to 40 days instead of 21, and I’m also going to do a soft fast for the remainder of lent. Basically no processed foods/drinks, eat 1600 kcal or lower, and I’m allowed to eat 1 full meal and 2 light snacks.

Try getting a website blocker that can’t be easily uninstalled, and has an unskippable delay to turn it off. I use onesec for my phone and pluckeye on my laptop.

Urges came back in the morning but have mostly gone away

Wake up early, do a few push ups, take a cold shower then just go study. As long as you aren’t starting your day on your phone it should be easier to maintain focus.
Make sure you’re in an environment you won’t get distracted in, I usually go to the library.
There are some nootropics I take like caffeine, lions mane, l theanine, and l tyrosine but I’m not sure how much of a difference it makes. You can buy them all in bulk or get them together in a packet

I also use a pomodoro timer for 50 minute study sessions and 10 minute breaks.
