The post-consumer economy; individuals are being squeezed out of the economy (in an individualistic society where your parents wont apprentice you or arrange you a marriage like they did every generation until 1950). Now all wealth is controlled in organizations. Your labor is worthless because of automation and you dont have any assets already. Soon you won't be able to afford anything at all because it's all sold to organizations. America is almost communist.
If modern tech and economic trends continue then we either must have UBI or will collapse as a society. And don't expect to be a survivor, that's a hollywood fantasy, you will probably starve, be a slave, or be locked in war with criminals.

Form a network of useful people to scratch each other's backs. You need a way to stay afloat without corporations (Israel is deeply embedded in all American infrastructure, they'll cut us off if we cut them off.) You need ways to get food, medicine, water, electricity, utilities. You need people like doctors, plumbers, welders, farmers, etc, to survive the economic strangling.
