It depends, really. If you want a more literal translation, go for the KJV, NASB, or even the LSV.
If you want something that falls between a literal translation and a paraphrase, go for the NIV or ESV, or the CSB and NLT if you prefer a more paraphrased reading. Pretty much any translation will do, as long as it stays close to the original manuscripts.

These are what Protestants typically use doebeit. I have no idea what Catholics or Eastern Orthodox Christians use. You can find good Bible sites online like biblegateway.com or biblehub.org

consider this as well: invest into a study bible from reputable authors. it will help you understand the bible more.

NKJV is the best, you could also use the KJV but only if you are learned in archaic English. I would recommend picking up an Orthodox Study Bible, you can get one off eBay or at a local Church. It's just the NKJV but with annotations.
