my brother is a tiktok addict and he literally just sits in his room all day with only boxers on. its ruined our relationship since he doesnt want to talk to my family anymore and he just yells if he doesnt like what you are doing.

a lot of people i knew from high school would literally only sit in class and scroll tiktok and that sucked because im a social kinda person and i like talking to people but the problem is that no other person wanted to talk.

even my dad has this issue since he has hearing issues from full blast listening to podcasts and playing COD Mobile when hes not working.

Nothing, she's probably undiagnosted but what i did by researching with chatgpt, She might have Conduct Disorder. She needs to be put on therapy ASAP, because this is only scale and get worse.

i don’t live with my mother cause she’s an ex addict and gave me heaps of trauma and it’s just better for my mental health if i don’t see her, but she has twin boys with another man so i have half brothers now who are nearly 11. this man has introduced them to technology and gaming from the age of 4, playing fucking grand theft auto. they were raised on youtube and gaming but in a way where it’s been neglectful and harmful. they’re so incredibly shy because their social development has been stunted due to always being on the playstation whenever they want and doing whatever they want with no internet monitoring. and being twins has also effected this because they’ve always had eachother and see no reason to make new friends, my mother and stepfather don’t even encourage making new friends. whenever i call my mom she bitches about my brothers being developmentally stunted in many ways compared to when i was the same age as them and i told her straight up and bluntly that it’s because of the internet and the playstation. for example on how bad it is, when i come to vist they ignore when i speak to them and never start conversations with me or when i try to engage they decide to shut me down and stop talking, it’s incredibly rude and frustrating. they can barley write because of the amount of time spent gaming, they aren’t good at reading or spelling, they can’t pack their own lunch for school, they can’t do shit for themselves and my stepdad enables it. they got my brothers A SECOND playstation for christmas and i had a stern talking to with my mother when she started complaining about them being anti social, she started breaking down crying and saying that i was right and that she was stupid to get another playstation. its not nearly as bad as your situation OP but its still destroying my family too, just in different ways. i dont have much hope for my brothers, they are genuine anti social retards. i’m not just saying that, they’re genuinely stupid and my mom and stepdad aren’t doing shit to help. they stand back and complain without putting in any action

i would love to be in my brothers lives more but i do not want to be around my mother. i can’t forgive her for the trauma and neglect she put me through. every time i look at her i can’t ever forget being a terrified 9 year old seeing her fent folded and passed out. it’s hard to forgive and forget when you have PTSD. she never took accountability and blamed her addiction on her depression

Its kinda crazy how many parents just give their kids an ipad/phono and just ignore them. At least in the 80s if your parents were neglectful you just amuse yourself but today cacas are being oneshotted by being given unsupervised internet access as toddlers.

Reading some of these comments makes me feel like the state or church should have some responsibility in raising kids because the situations described in the replies are sadly really common because of shitty parents. I really know don't how you can make these parents actually care for their children

agreed fully. all the kids in my church are happy and well behaved. like a week ago another priest came to celebrate in our liturgy and his family is so beautiful and well maintained. he has like 3 kids and they were all good and well behaved and funny.
