Is getting a GED a viable option to get into college, etc.?

I am 18 and right now I am supposed to be completing my senior year of highschool, but I dropped out and simply never went. My entire highschool experience was basically a long mental breakdown. By the time I was a sophomore, I just couldn't make it out of bed. I hardly ever went, I would just sleep days at a time. I was hopelessly suicidal all throughout and was convinced I would be dead before graduation. Since I dropped out, I've been utterly convinced that my life is over, but I'm starting to get my life together again. What can I do? If I get my GED, would it essentially be the same as graduating and remedy the situation?

I basically would just like to be convinced that my life isn't over. I want to have a wife and kids and lead a normal life, really.

college isn't difficult most public universities and community colleges don't require SAT scores.

That's the thing, I actually did the ACT and did really well on it. My score was that of a straight A student, but all of my grades were shit. That's why I just want to get my GED, I feel like my ACT score would make up for my garbage GPA.

Yeah, I had to get a ged because my house was unfit for habitation.
Long story, but I'm currently in college.

idk if getting a GED is worth it but nobaldi will hire you without a highschool diploma because it signals fickleness. It primarily affects your resume.
you could probably complete your highschool with an online program like I did (I've done online school since the second semester of 6th grade, it counts completely as finishing highschool and i didnt have to deal with normiecattleniggers making me suicidal)
If you cant get hired by hiring managers then you'll be relegated to small businesses, blue collar work, entrepreneurship, and whatever your connections will get you.
Networking is important if you have a bad resume. You could probably get industry connections at universities without being enrolled in classes. Specifically, attending presentations relating to an industry you want to work in, and collecting emails and groupchats. I have security industry connections because I joined the security association club at my uni and paid attention at meetings.
Entrepreneurship might be the way to go anyway because of the terrible job market.

Ffffuuuuuccckkkk
>you could probably complete your highschool with an online program like I did
I tried that, and I just couldn't do it. I might try again next year, it's either that or the GED.

I actually wouldn't mind any of that

That sounds like something I would enjoy. If I could participate in academia to learn, even without getting a degree, I would be happy.

If you can try to find a good reputable online program in your state, it's probably better than just phoning in a GED
Source: I looked a lot into the GED in my Junior year because highschool sucks and it turns out that a lot of places will "take" a GED but it sets you back pretty far overall

Maybe I should just lie to the government and say I'm a plus sized woman of color, save for a few years, and then go buy some property and live away from society

i did the same thing and was the same way, but you might want to look into a trade. college will be hard for you even if you're a good student if you can't focus well. trades are more varied in your daily tasks and more stimulating

I've definitely thought about trades
