Its ok if you start out small at first, you dont need to play it EVERY day. I bought an $800 tablet for drawing, and at first I didn't really use it because I kept procrastinating, a lot of times I would draw less than 1 hour a week. Over time THOUGH I got used to just forcing myself to draw when I wasn't motivated and now I do draw consistently.
Get the instrument and start with practicing once a week for 30-60 minutes. That is a very achievable goal. Once you get used to that and it doesn't feel so hard, start doing it twice a week, and then three times a week, then for longer sessions, etc. And remember that you have to force yourself to do it even when you don't feel like it in the moment, this is the most important part to building discipline/consistency.

you should get a cheaper version of the instrument first then once you actually get into it you can think about getting the expensive one
