I am Puerto Rican and I am whiter than nearly everyone I know except my family, I speak a lot of English even THOUGH I am ESL but I also speak Spanish, Medieval Galician-Portuguese and some Modern Portuguese, engaging with medieval Spanish history, and reading of those victories against the mudslimes makes me proud of my heritage, but I have a hard time relating with anyone at all IRL.

I don't like anything about my country. The music sucks. The culture (in the traditional sense) sucks. The urban culture sucks (its pretty much the niggy 'let's be gangsters' type culture). The food is somewhat good tho. The quality of life sucks. I have nothing to feel proud about on this country. I often wish I was from countries where at least I could feel proud about my people and its accomplishments.

I sort of relate, urban culture is so brimstone in Puerto Rico too, it makes all of us look so bad and low class. I couldn't care less for reggaeton which tends to be overly vulgar gangsta coal, I find that what at least makes me most feel proud of my Castillian, Galician and Portuguese heritage is reading of history and the texts they wrote (which to most Puerto Ricans is SNCA), their multiple victories over the mudslimes and jews make me feel proud of my heritage.

I learned Medieval Galician from the Cantigas de Santa María, they're good songs composed by the court of Alfonso X de Castilla y León that tell of miracles of the Virgin Mary and praise her, the miracles covered are very vast and involve all sorts of scenarios of Medieval life from making shirts to war with Mudslimes, and even killing Jews referring to them as "The evil Jews" and saying they are ,"worse than the Moors" even THOUGH Alfonso had war with mudslimes.
