Let me use my own life as an example.
My mother is 44, recovering addict. Opiates, herion, and weed. When she was 14 she was groomed and manipulated by an older man for years when her life was horrible and she was on the brink of killing herself and grasping on to hope. This man was in her life until she was 20 and got her into drugs at the age of 14 to show her how to make life better. This turned into a full blown addiction since she had been using since such a young age. She was using when I was younger too, I begged her to stop and she would break down in tears saying she was trying to, my stepdad was enabling her and I begged her to see the truth and leave him. She eventually enrolled into narcotics anonymous and is actively recovering. I’ve caught her popping pills a few times since but it’s never been as bad as it was.
If you think someone who was groomed into addiction at the young age of 14 deserves death penalty, not any kind of help, but death, you need to reconsider your morals. My mother is great despite her addiction and did a good job pushing through and raising 3 kids under unfortunate circumstances. Obviously there were horrible moments but the truth is I didn’t have it as bad as i could’ve
