Is writing letters to yourself deranged?

I've started doing it lately because I struggle to write in a journal format. Usually I'd just blogpost on here but lately I've been mulling over a topic that can't be discussed publicly.
I don't want to confide in anyone about it privately because they'd either get stressed out if they think I'm onto something or think I'm a paranoid schizo if they don't.
Can't even hide behind anonymity to discuss it either because only three people in the world have access to the information my ideas are stemming from and based on their actions they're either useful idiots or in on it.

Having the letters saved forever instead of vanishing forever after a day or so is nice though. They'll be interesting to revisit if anything like Snowden's leak happens in future since I'll be able to see how accurate my "conspiracy theory" was.
