i slept for 5 hours a night max eveery night (xept weekends ofc) for the entirity of highschool
I failed collage bcs they didn't really care if you were late so I never made it to my first class since I actually got 9 hours then (among other things, it was only 1 class and I just didn't go to it)
Now I am also a super advocate for getting good sleep, adn especially good quality sleep

Guess what I did?
Exact same thing
It was the 2nd year I failed though and resitting was free so I'm currently resitting instead of giving up and throwing two years away with nothing to show for it

I realised half way through the year that I probably wouldn't have made it in uni, even If I did graduate collage
I don't think I wasted my time however, I picked only subjects that interested me and took enough from everything to benefit me in some way
β924272[Quote]
>>924267Personally I think I'll do fine in uni
I know the subject matter at a higher level than the classes here teach, literally just attending for the qualification so I can go to uni
>I don't think I wasted my time however, I picked only subjects that interested me and took enough from everything to benefit me in some wayThat's cool, what are you up to now then if you dropped out?
NEETing? Deadend wagie job? Nice job?

β924276[Quote]
>>924272If you already know you're gonna be fine in uni them I'm sure you will do really well overall, congrats on having the willpower to endure another year
I neeted for a year and dealt with a ton of personal issues that I never really acknowledged, I tried to dropship and do shit like that but I have literally no discipline at all and gave up pretty quickly on everything I tried
I tried several things and I'm sticking with (ironically, some shit I was doing in collage) studying part time in hopes of trading stocks/futures for an income
I am forcing myself to learn calculus because I refuse to not know that, but that was kind of impossible on it's own so now I'm also studying physics alongside it to have reference for stuff I study
I'm currently focussing on just building up the habit of working daily, instead of brute forcing a 10 hour work session once a week and waiting to be motivated.
In the meantime I have a part time job so I can afford shit, I'm
β924279[Quote]
>>924273serotonin naturally increases over the day and after a certain amount of time, it will start to convert more and more into melatonin
melatonin is the hormone that signals for your nervous system that it's time to sleep
In Autism/ASD, melatonin is blunted which will make you less tired and will give you the ability to play vidya and do shit at like 4am without being that bothered
In ADHD the melatonin release is delayed which will present as 'insomnia' in ppl with adhd
Having both ADHD and ASD will cause a blunted realease and a delayed release, meaning that you will think you can just pull an all nighter whenever you want or make you think that you can just fuck around and not commit to a bedtime because you don't get tired
β924281[Quote]
>>924279I wanted to do this (pharmocology, neuroscience) in uni but psychology is fucking aids and I hated it and never went to the class

>>924276>congrats on having the willpower to endure another yearThanks, it's a fucking slog and since the lecturers know I know the material from last year they treat me more like an unpaid teaching assistant than a student
>I neeted for a year and dealt with a ton of personal issues that I never really acknowledged, I tried to dropship and do shit like that but I have literally no discipline at all and gave up pretty quickly on everything I triedSomewhat planning on doing this myself
Taking a gap year after this instead of going to uni straight away
Got a few personal goals I'd like to work on without having to worry about attending classes or getting assignments in
Also have a side project that's grown to the point it might be a viable business if I'm able to pay full attention to it so I'd like to try that and see where it goes
>I'm sticking with (ironically, some shit I was doing in collage) studying part time in hopes of trading stocks/futures for an incomeGood luck
Stock market sounds like a good passive income source to me but I wouldn't be brave enough to try making a living off it
>I'm currently focussing on just building up the habit of working daily, instead of brute forcing a 10 hour work session once a week and waiting to be motivated.I need to do this too
That's how I work right now and I failed last year because the motivation never came
β924290[Quote]
>>924285>Somewhat planning on doing this myselfI would definitely recommend the gap year, I feel as though jumping straight into
training for some job is a terrible idea
What has really worked for me recently is when I get home from work,
I check the stock market, I draw some shit on charts, I research
some stuff that interests me, I do this for like 10 minutes then
i will open up a physics textbook, study that for another 5-10 minutes and then just leave for the day
Ik it sounds kinda weird but overtime I have spent more time studying since I'm just used to doing it when I get home, its frictionless
β924291[Quote]
From the book atomic habits
The author talks about a guy who literally went to the gym for 5 minutes a day
Sometimes he'd just turn up, go inside, then leave
After 4 weeks he decided that since he's there, he may aswell exercise
I think this is a pretty good way of going about it if you have the time
If you have a deadline for exams then maybe you should try 15 minutes at least so you actually get somework done
β924300[Quote]
>>924290>>924291Might try this
Currently I justify my procrastination to myself with excuses like "I need to go to bed in 30 minutes I've not got time to work on anything anyway"
β924301[Quote]

β924305[Quote]
>>924300try and do some studying every day at the same time
In like a month you will be studying a large amount of stuff
And then when you get to uni or you get to working on your project, you will find it easy to just work on it because you replace the studying with working
And the best part is you will do it every day, and you will be happy to do it
β924317[Quote]
>>924305Thanks, definitely trying this
