>have a nice day today?
yeah i did
today wasn't too bad
college was pretty easy but it's mostly beginning of the semester shit i had to do like introductions in all my classes
most of the classes i'm in are fairly easy, atleast the electives and english and history
i know a couple of people in my english class and sat with them today and i had a good discussion today which was nice, had a partner project too so i wasn't completely alone or with a random person i didn't know
i have to take a bunch of snca because i'm a freshman at my college but it's not too bad, atleast it's stuff i'm interested in like photography, which is pretty nice
if you want i can show you some of my photos i've taken later, atleast the ones that don't dox me completely
most of them were taken on my old phone but i have all the photos from that saved on my pc so i can show them to you
engineering classes aren't too bad either, most of the people i knew from my old class are still there
seems to be easier than last semester which is good
not sure about math yet, it's the first day and my teacher already handed me this big ass packet that's due friday, i've done some of it but handing me this huge ass packet on the first day back kinda pisses me off since i haven't thought of math in like 3 weeks but it's mostly review so hopefully it'll be easy
>i'm going to bed now but i'll read your reply when i wake up i guess
good night man, that's if you're going to go to bed right now
>also null is probably going to leak on my kiwifarms account soon because i gave this guy an invite today knowing full well that he only wanted the account to shit up the man hate thread
lol
did you make that registration before or after the new registration changes?

anyways how was your day? did you have a good day today?
if you're falling asleep rn then i guess i'll just wait for your response when you wake up in the morning
i'm probably just going to spend the rest of today reading and outside until i'm tired and head to bed so see ya if you're going to go
also should i start namefagging? i don't know if you can tell it's me most of the time and i don't want to confuse you but not sure yet

nigga ofc
they taught it first year of high school bruh 😭
fr i'd do more cad shit at home but on linux the best alternatives i have to inventor and autocad are kicad and freecad which both aren't as good as their autodesk alternatives
how's cnc like?

why not just download Fusion360 (or just pirate ACAD/Inv) and run it with WINE? seems like a good way to stay on top of your skills

 β„–907624[Quote]

>>907610
do you actually do welding? that's pretty cool
back at my old tech center there was this really huge cnc room with a bunch of machines that were loud af, it was pretty cool looking at everything
do niggas actually get hurt operating those machines doe
>why not just download Fusion360
never tried it before honestly
i've just used autocad and all my life and it works fine for me
i also know a bit of revit from a civil engineering class i took in hs
>or just pirate ACAD/Inv) and run it with WINE?
never tried this before
i honestly thought that shit would've been like adobe shit and would've never ran on linux but i guess you're kinda right since it does seem to work fine using wine

 β„–907648[Quote]

>>907624
yeah i do welding. only my first year though, so im mostly learning stuff.
>do niggas actually get hurt operating those machines doe
you can get hurt from slipping on water. proper safety and awareness matters
>never tried it before honestly
me neither but its free to download. i know a guy who uses F360 to make custom car parts he welds himself so its good if you know what you are doing
>revit
revit is hard bro i was in a architecture class and figuring out how to use materials and layers is tough.
>never tried this before
afaik AutoCAD is like one of the things that WINE is supposed to run well

 β„–907659[Quote]

>>907648
>yeah i do welding. only my first year though, so im mostly learning stuff.
hows it like? i know some jitts who do welding
seems fun but i don't think it'd pay that much
>i know a guy who uses F360 to make custom car parts he welds himself
that's kinda smart honestly
i definitely want to start learning how to weld sometime i move out because doing shit like that seems really fun and a great way to save money
>so its good if you know what you are doing
lol
i don't
who does?
>revit is hard bro i was in a architecture class and figuring out how to use materials and layers is tough.
bruh it wasn't that bad for me
the materials and layers part was kinda insufferable doe, you're right. it's clunked behind like 10000000 different menus and i remember having to make a shed that would be insulated in my class and having to do so much bullshit just so the wood would be the proper material
aside from that it was quite nice, i liked fucking around with the topography option when i was bored

 β„–907664[Quote]

>>907659
>hows it like?
fun. you can make literally anything you want. ik a guy who just goes there to make dirt bikes for fun.
<
also im assuming you are a mechanical engineer, so id suggest taking it if you really want to succeed in your career.
>seems really fun and a great way to save money
its both. if he hired a TIG welder, it wouldve costed him thousands just for a single welded object.
>who does?
practice makes perfect
>bruh it wasn't that bad for me
picking materials and working with different object types was a hard concept to grasp at first but it makes stunning results
>topography
working on topography sucks bro i never have a good idea on how to approach it. the topographies i design for fictional projects always look like doodoo

bruh do you be making your houses on mountains or some shit
i just liked fucking around with the topography and making slopjak terrains when i was bored
it's not that hard since where i live is mostly flat so having little to no topography was acceptable by my instructor kek

 β„–907696[Quote]

just got home from college
remember that exam i was talking about on monday?
that was today and it turns out i didn't even have to do it since i passed last year
<nakukoro what are you doing here you already passed this exam last year
>oh i don't have to resit it? i assumed i did since i got an email saying i'm scheduled to sit it today and tomorrow
<you were automatically put down as sitting it but your existing grade is already on the system so you could just skip it and keep last year's grade, which i recommend you do since you got a very good grade last year
>nah i might as well resit it now since i went the effort of getting here on time
ended up finishing early so i don't have to go in tomorrow anyway (6 hour paper that's meant be sat over two 3 hour sessions, i finished in 2 hours today)
>resitting an exam i already aced for the lols then declaring that i've finished 4 hours early
i must seem like such a cocky bastard to my peers

brootal
i always found math pretty easy despite being shit at mental arithmetic though
when calculators and scrap paper are allowed it's just a matter of understanding the rules which anyone can do
>did you make that registration before or after the new registration changes?
literally an hour before
also null banned him before he even did anything for some reason, my account is untouched though
>anyways how was your day? did you have a good day today?
i did pretty much nothing yesterday since i don't have college on tuesdays

hi sorry i'm off on lunch break now so i'll talk now
>ended up finishing early so i don't have to go in tomorrow anyway (6 hour paper that's meant be sat over two 3 hour sessions, i finished in 2 hours today)
nigga just doing it for the love of the game at this point
i respect that but i'd feel like an asshole if i did that so i'd probably just skip
>when calculators and scrap paper are allowed it's just a matter of understanding the rules which anyone can do
i've had maybe like two tests this entire semester where i could use a calculator on
physics is incredibly easy to me since it kinda just feels like that, it's just understanding equations and plugging things in
i've gotten much better at it though
i struggled with math a lot during middle/high school because my parents decided to put me 3 grades ahead of the math i was supposed to be taking when i was just barely doing good enough in math in elementary school
the upside of being kinda shit at math is that i'm atleast very good at science, history and english so i can easily pass those without even trying because they're much easier than the ones i took previously
i remember when i first took the ACT i remember getting fairly high scores for science english and reading but getting below average scores for math even though literally everyone i know said that the reading and science were the hardest parts and the math was the easiest
>i did pretty much nothing yesterday since i don't have college on tuesdays
nice
same ig lol
first half of college i didn't really do shit
second half i'll probably have to do shit
>>907898
what's it like getting a license over there in england?
>learner plates
what is this bro
some retards just put on like "i'm a new driver please don't kill me" stickers on the back of their cars but that's just about it
<
for my experience i remember when i was 15 and a half (legal age to get a permit in my state) i had to do a driving class that was 7 hours long for 2 days
it was basically just us mostly reading our driver manual and taking notes on it
mostly just doing general driving procedures, what all the signs mean, what to do in certain situations, warnings for people and all of that
i do remember them showing us shit like a gore movie about what could happen if we text and drove which was pretty funny
there were a lot of car crash compilations we had to watch
i also remember them giving us free food
we did a mock test at the end of it and then we had to go to somewhere to take the real test which apparently my brothers both failed like 3 times because they kept studying online instead of studying the manual which is where all the questions came from
i got like a 16/20 which was good enough to pass and get my permit which was really close since i needed a 15 to passa
they have to have you get 50 hours of driving experience before you're able to get your license when you turn 16 but they never actually check so you can just lie about it, i do remember getting a vast majority of my driving experience by driving with my mom and dad whenever they would drop/pick me up from school which was good
anyways, when i signed up for that class they had 3 separate driving times i could do with certain instructors
basically it was just me and one of the instructors going on free drives around the city
the first one was the first time i ever drove and i remember spending the vast majority of it being really stupid in a church parking lot, then i remember doing on the roads and in a neighborhood (it was literally my first time in a car)
the second time was mostly just the same of that, i just remembered driving in the country a lot which meant i could go fast and there was hardly any traffic which was nice, roads were empty too
the third one was the final one where they'd test me over, they had me do shit like uphill/downhill parking, emergency stops and other things like that. which i had to pass incase i wanted to get my license
i was able to practice a bit beforehand with my instructor so thankfully i passed
i literally don't even know how i passed because i accidentally hit the curb like a retard when i got pretty close to a stop sign and tried to turn right which should've been an automatic criteria for failure and also did a downhill park instead of an uphill park on one of the parking ones i had to do and my instructor didn't look too pleased but i managed to pass that somehow with an 84%??? not sure how i did it but i'm glad
and then after that, it's when i got my license because i just turned 16 and passed the class so i was able to drive on my own
it's a lot more retarded if you do it whenever you're a teen instead of an adult because you have to do like the driving classes first, if you're an adult all you have to do is the test and then the final driving test to get your permit but i had to do a bunch of other shit since i was a caca

 β„–908061[Quote]

anyways, don't you mostly take the bus to school?
i used to do that a lot when i was younger because i didn't want to waste my mom's time she could spend making food for me waiting to pick me up so i went on the bus a lot
i don't have that many stories, i just remember there would always be kids who would pick on me since i mostly just sat alone and i was an easy target for picking
there was this one girl who i remembered talking to back when i used to sit on the bus who wasn't a sisa but she liked what i liked when i was a kid and i was literally next door neighbors to her so we got along
she was y*llow though, so i remembered slightly liking her less for being a chink
<
idk what else to say man i'm just waiting for yuo to respond to this
how's your new years resolutions going? mine are pretty good
most of the free-time i had at college i spent reading instead of wasting it fucking around so i've been reading more, also been reading more when i get home too
i also went to the gym yesterday and on monday too. i'm way too sore because i haven't gone in literal forever and i did do some nice workouts so i'll probably skip today since i don't want my muscles to hurt more
going to go and try to go to bed earlier too, yesterday i went to bed at 1 am and on monday i went to bed at like 12:30 AM so i'm working on it
better than going to bed at 4 and then sleeping for like 3 hours and being exhausted at school then immediately taking a nap when you get home geg

>>908068
>every maths exam i've had that actually mattered i was allowed a calculator on
interesting
for the most part they separate the test into no calc and calc parts (calc is slang for calculator btw if you didn't know)
calc parts are worth like 30% of your grade while no calc is worth like 70%, so more of an emphasis on not using a calc
>literally what i'm talking about kek
nigga what is this warrior-z ass L
keep putting L's and bumping into curbs ahh
genuinely what is this supposed to mean
>yep
how's that like
as a kid i remember it being much more chaotic but in college its probably better
do you have to pay for it
is public transportation your main source of travel? just curious since you literally cannot like go anywhere until you're like 16 and have a car here
>in particular i've been sleeping at normalGOD times like 10pm which is why you've been seeing less of me lately
what times have you been waking up at?
i usually wake up like an hour before classes start for me so i have time to get ready but i want to wake up earlier so i can have more time to fuck around before class since i usually spend my hour taking a shower then eating breakfast then driving to college
also does your college pay for parking there or is that just an amerimutt thing
idk if you know since you ride the bus but i had to pay $200 just for parking and sometimes i don't even get it
>what sort of books?
fiction mostly
just shit i remember hearing about from /lit/ and wanting to read someday for the most part

<bus

>how's that like
surprisingly not too bad
>as a kid i remember it being much more chaotic but in college its probably better
these are regular buses used by the general public rather than school buses so yeah it's pretty civilised
i complain about brown people a lot but none of them have caused any issues while i've been on the bus with them
>do you have to pay for it
nope, i am a certified poorfag so i get a free bus pass from my college that's valid during term time
"abusing" it to travel to other places for free too is nice
>is public transportation your main source of travel? just curious since you literally cannot like go anywhere until you're like 16 and have a car here
it is, since i can't drive and have nobody to drive me
it was awful in my mother's town because the buses there only ran every two hours but it's bearable here since they run every 30 minutes
>what times have you been waking up at?
around 5am which gives me a few hours before i have to leave the house to catch the bus at 8am
>also does your college pay for parking there or is that just an amerimutt thing
i don't think so
>i had to pay $200 just for parking and sometimes i don't even get it
ah is the point to discourage people from using their car park since it's not big enough to fit everyone's cars?
the car park at my college doesn't have any issues with that

>ive taken an interest in computer and programming related books but not totally sure if i should read them or not

i read a lot of the programming books that /g/ shills like SICP a few years ago but i don't think i learnt much from them
i learn much better by just working on projects and referring to the language's docs (e.g. https://www.php.net/manual/en/, https://docs.python.org/3/)when i'm not sure how to do something in the language i'm using

>it's only legal for my dad to let me drive his car if the car is taking Lz
interesting
they had a bunch of custom cars at the driving school i went to that had a bunch of stickers saying student driver incase drivers got upset
that's really retarded though since most student drivers are better than the old 80 year old ladies driving or the drunk dads
also driving at anytime is weird
my learners permit had specific curfew periods where i couldn't drive anytime after sunset and only after sunrise
>dual controls
marge
maybe im too mutted to get it since every single car ive seen here is an automatic and nobeidore here drives manuals
aren't they pretty popular in the UK? I have no clue whether the car you're going to drive is a manual or automatic so that might make it slightly harder to learn
>i complain about brown people a lot but none of them
r there actually a lot there
i assume if your city is full of brown people its probably because of college and all h-1bsaars coming because they'd rather study in the uk and use chatgpt to get their degree instead of studying in india
is it mostly pakis and jeets or other kinds of browns?
also on a side tangent i see buses here quite frequently cause my city has been trying to get people to use public transport and they seem well funded
they also have like rental scooters and bikes in the downtown parts of the city so people have more of a reason to use public transport and not cars
i hate walkable cities though because i think they're soy and ive lived in a driveable city my entire life and ive gotten used to it
in general i also hate people who glaze driveable cities since they turn out to be insufferable
>nope, i am a certified poorfag so i get a free bus pass from my college that's valid during term time
any other benefits you receive from being a poorfag aside from free lunch and free bus shit?
also is the college lunch there even good
at my college its mostly just fast food places given their own places sorta like a mall but there's some goyslop they have there
>it was awful in my mother's town because the buses there only ran every two hours but it's bearable here since they run every 30 minutes
damn
before i had a car i had no clue when the buses ran and had no clue how to check either
i remember walking to walmart once when i was like 14 and i remember it taking me 2+ hours because my city is legitimately only built for cars kek
not only that they had so much construction going on so i had to take a really long path across and spent a shit ton of time waiting at stop lights just so i could cross
i could've gotten there within 15 minutes with the consequence of me dying by just running across the highway since it was right across from that but id get hammered by a car going 80mph and id fucking die since its a death sentence trying to cross that lmao
>around 5am which gives me a few hours before i have to leave the house to catch the bus at 8am
waking up at that time sounds nice but my family is also going to be waking up at that time and they're loud asf in the mornings so im honestly glad i wake up later lol
>ah is the point to discourage people from using their car park since it's not big enough to fit everyone's cars?
no
its greed
see picrel
my college has like two of these really big parking lots that have several levels for most of the people who go here
there's some occasional parking in other areas but theyre mostly used for staff, most people just park here anyways since they can pack a lot of cars
it is pretty nice because they have a feature on my campus that tells me how many cars are currently parked in each floor
if i come earlier then maybe i can get a good spot but if i show up late ill have a niggerish spot because all the other good spots are taken
most popular tourist destinations and places like this have places where you have to pay for parking because of greed and its easy money for them
at my old hs i had to get a parking sticker to put on my car so they knew i could park but i just didn't and they never caught on but at my college they actually check so i had to actually pay for parking
im just glad i pirated all my textbooks instead of paying several hundreds for them doe kek since college is a scam even doe its not
>i read a lot of the programming books that /g/ shills like SICP a few years ago but i don't think i learnt much from them
i don't know, i just find them interesting cause they're quite informative evwn if their old
i think in 2026 its probably best you read the docs instead of old shit that hardly might apply
>i learn much better by just working on projects and referring to the language's docs
informative
ive been trying to get back into programming so ts will probably be useful i hope

not common at all
just a requirement for driving on motorways as a learner so that the person with you can take over if shit hits the fan
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_motorways_in_the_United_Kingdom
motorway in this context is referring to these specific big roads rather than all roads btw
>maybe im too mutted to get it since every single car ive seen here is an automatic and nobeidore here drives manuals
my dad has a manual and he says it's better to learn with a manual since you'll be able to drive both manuals and automatics that way
>is it mostly pakis and jeets or other kinds of browns?
mainly 'jeets and blacks, quite a few arabs too
>they also have like rental scooters and bikes in the downtown parts of the city so people have more of a reason to use public transport and not cars
there are rental scooters littered everywhere here and it's annoying
>i hate walkable cities though because i think they're soy
i have mixed feelings on them
i hate cities in general but having grown up in a snca village i appreciate the convenience of having everything within walking distance
>waking up at that time sounds nice but my family is also going to be waking up at that time and they're loud asf in the mornings so im honestly glad i wake up later lol
my family doesn't get up til 7am on weekdays and 10am on weekends
being the first one up on a weekend is a weird feeling, much more lonely than pulling an all nighter somehow
>no
>its greed
>see picrel

tbf reading docs only helps if you already have an idea of what you need to do
i said i didn't learn much from them but i can't remember where i learnt the actual fundamentals of programming so it's possible i soaked up info from them without realising

nah just that
>also is the college lunch there even good
it's not the worst in the world but it's still goyslop
premade sandwich pack like picrel plus a can of drink and a pack of crisps (aka chips)

my mom got these really nice sweets from her job and she gave it to me and i've been eating them they're pretty nice

>just a requirement for driving on motorways as a learner so that the person with you can take over if shit hits the fan
are most cars in the uk built in with ts feature?
i genuinely thought this was only apart of like cars that they give you at driving classes and such
>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_motorways_in_the_United_Kingdom
these just look like worse highways
is it even that far to travel anywhere in the uk? i heard most of the major cities are pretty close to eachother so you don't have to drive an entire day just to end up in a huge city like here
>my dad has a manual and he says it's better to learn with a manual since you'll be able to drive both manuals and automatics that way
is your dad also a car autist or is that just my dad
he knows how to drive a manual too and offered to teach me on but prefers automatics
>mainly 'jeets and blacks, quite a few arabs too
informative
i don't really see those here
hardly any of them are immigrants too, most of them were born here
the most type of immigrants i see are mexicans and they're loud and annoying but atleast much better then most of the total chimpniggers i've met aside from a couple of cool ones
>there are rental scooters littered everywhere here and it's annoying
lol
whenever i was 14 i remembered renting a scooter for an hour and i was almost done with my time and i was near a bridge with water so i decided to dump the scooter into the water because i thought it'd be funny
i felt really bad about it afterwards but nobody caught me and nobody still knows
i did it because i thought it was retarded e-waste (it is)
>i hate cities in general
ehh
i live in a suburban neighborhood so it's not too bad within the neighborhood i live in
having to actually go on the main roads to go places isn't too annoying but there's a lot of people here so it can be uncomfortable
i've never really had the feeling of just being able to walk to stores
except for my local drugstore, which is like a 15 minute walk from where i live but i still have to pass through a shit ton of cars just to make it there
i think cities are okay but in general in the future i'd prefer to live in a town since i don't really want to see many people or interact with many people when i'm not required to as part of job or education
this is an sncanvke but my dad owns a house in the literal middle of nowhere in my state in a place that has like 200 people in it and it's completely disconnected off the road
he does absolutely nothing with it and the tax costs for it aren't that expensive since it's literally in the middle of nowhere and he doesn't pay for the water and or electricity for it
i don't know how he got it but it comes with a shit ton of land
i've thought of sometime in the future offering him some sum of money to buy that house and the land for myself and doing something with it
it's a pretty small house and it has literally no air conditioning so it's literally 100f niggerhell in there but he thought of doing some rennovations
idk if i lived there it'd be pretty peaceful, i'd probably learn how to farm or some shit so i could grow my own food instead of eating goymunch all day, maybe get internet set up there and just chill there
it'd be peaceful but i'd probably need to live somewhere close for work/education so i'm not sure and it's in the literal middle of nowhere kek
>i appreciate the convenience of having everything within walking distance
lol can't relate
everything here isn't that far if you have a car though
nobody really does any major shit here, it's mostly just local event shit which can be pretty comfy but ultimately snca
>my family doesn't get up til 7am on weekdays and 10am on weekends
lucky
whenever my brother is staying with us he gets up at like 5 am and he can be really loud whenever he does so
my mom gets up at 6 am and she's always watching vids on full volume so it gets really annoying
or on the phone with someone
>tbf reading docs only helps if you already have an idea of what you need to do
yeah thats kinda what i meant
>i can't remember where i learnt the actual fundamentals of programming so it's possible i soaked up info from them without realising
most of what i know about programming i learned from attempting to make roblox games with my friends and making shitty games in godot
i know a bit of website shit like css html and js bc i made my own site when i was like 12 but i haven't attempted to do anything with it in forever
>>908118
ts is the type of shit they serve at the vending machines here
it's not bad if you're hungry but it's not the most exquisite eats either
