half the class didn't show up because of the snow and both the morning and afternoon classes were dedicated to cramming for an exam that i got 94% on last year so i just spent the day working on my own personal projects during class instead

kinda dreading coming back tmrw even doe i've kinda been expecting it
not too bummed about going back to school since it gives me somewhat of a purpose in life
if i just spent what i did entirity of winter break my entire life i'd be bummed out so school keeps me atleast somewhat mentally sane and making sure i don't completely go off the deep end
i know i'm not going to have to do a lot this week because my school is going to be throwing a bunch of events and whatnot so it's whatever, i just hope to atleast get some good focusing and studying in since i haven't had as much of an opportunity to do so this year

in the exam you get some extremely trivial problem to solve like a BMI calculator and you have to design a flowchart, write a python program, document the results of testing your program with various inputs, etc

i remember having to do something similar when i took python classes back in high school, it was incredibly easy and i managed to get an 100 on it
i was like one of the three people in that class who actually tried in that class because the class had like 30 people in it but most of the people there solely took it as free hour so they could watch tiktok and play roblox all hour

i have to do so many bullshit pre-requisites with shit like design matrixes and i have to get sample tests and a bunch of other shit just to design something like nigga just let me design my project, i don't want to have to write an entire design doc on why i chose specific things

yeah it's really annoying
i'd probably have friends irl if people in my class had the same interests as me (e.g. programming, the very thing we're meant to be studying) but they're normalfags who hate it and only took computer science because they thought there was money in it

i think no matter what i just don't like what a vast majority of "normal" people at my school like
i haven't been that normal in the past couple of years mostly due to my obsession stemming from this site but ive had phases where i was more of a normalgod, just slightly autistic over certain things
i can still get along with people nowadays its just much harder to do so when you've been an outsider all your life and what everyone cares about nowadays are the latest game releases and what they've been seeing on tiktok
i hardly have much in common with most of the people at my college but im enough of a """normalfag""" that i can probably strike up conversation if i wanted to, i just don't decide to most of the time because i don't particularly see many reasons in doing so, especially since when i have to "hide my powerlevel" against most people my age
i don't really do much engineering outside of school so that's probably one of the reasons why, but ive been trying to look for ways to implement it in my day to day, by working on smaller projects

there's a lot of this kind who do this because they think its just messing around with random things with your hands but drop it after a couple of months after realizing how much math is involved
people just see it more for the money then an experience to learn literally anything

Coding is painfully boring to me and I much enjoy doing hydraulic and electrical work instead

planning and staying organized is important. having a goal and a clear path make better products and keeps you focused

It's just a filter and even then you just need it for a job since becoming a licensed engineer doesn't require it
