That guy is a Lyran, a humanoid esque being. It's unclear wether or not they're an offshoot of humanity or the progenitor of mankind. Caucasian features are near non existent in Transient except for the Lyrans and the people in the surrounding mountains of their homeland.
They average 10 feet tall, have skin like pitch, cat like eyes (including glowing at angles in the dark) and red hair. As they're so big, their civilization is currently stuck in the bronze age since they need more food for upkeep. This is for the better because they are horrifically aggressive. They view humanity as weak, as if we were macaques. They use scare tactics like crawling on all fours, screaming loudly (they screech like mountain lions) and smiling widely at you. Often they like to put a large branch on a human's neck, stand on it, and laugh as they pull up on the legs, the head being torn off. Really it's hyper aggressive super cavemen.
Historically Lyrans were kept at bay by a rather large mountain range and rough terrain… but they have started to enter the steppes. Good fucking luck fighting one without any sort of reach because he's gonna grab you by the neck and windmill you like a chicken

Humanity is currently around 1300 AD technologic wise. But this is Asia, they're all still on horseback and farming rice. Infact, you'd be more concerned with war with other humans. Lyrans are big and scary but it's like bigfoot, you'd never run into one unless you live really far into the woods. To give you an idea, there's about a ratio of 1:10 of Lyrans to other Humans
