it's been interesting
yesterday i decided to change myself for the better and i think that's going alright so far
not made any friends yet but i'm making an effort to be more approachable (e.g. not wearing headphones in public, smiling more) which seems to be working since i had a random guy come up to me asking for directions this morning

this afternoon i visited my mother's house
was nice to see my siblings but that place is an actual shithole
they got a dog a few months before i moved out and it kept trying to piss on the christmas tree while i was over today because they never bothered training it (by "they" i'm referring to my mother and her partner, i don't blame my siblings since none of them like that dog and her partner was the one who insisted on getting it)
siblings tell me it's like that all the time and it often pisses in bedrooms if doors are left open, wonderful

when i left, my mother gave me one of these chocolate advent calendars to take home
i said thanks and accepted it since i didn't want to be rude but i secretly felt offended by it because i feel too old to have one of these
going to let my youngest two siblings eat all of the chocolates in it next time they come around here instead of having it myself
