we used to be very close before that but we've been drifting apart ever since
he did his GCSEs (important bongland exams) this year and predictably completely failed them because the last 4 years of his life were spent sitting in our room on "our" PC (shit i never got to use because he was on it 24/7) playing video games with his discord friends
he seems to have started turning his life around since i moved out of our mother's house though
got an apprenticeship with a local plumber that he gets up for at 7am as well as taking over all the household chores that i used to do like washing up, laundry, feeding pets, etc
maybe i was the problem all along and should have forced him to help out with chores instead of doing everything myself

if you'd asked 2-3 years ago the answer would have been "no way, i'm already burnt out" but my views changed after i realised being an adult with 2-3 kids wouldn't be nearly as bad as what i had to deal with

i was talking to her about it and i did not realise just how fucked her transport situation was
she lives nearly 3 hours away from the college so 11:50am is the absolute earliest she can arrive via public transport which means she has no choice but to miss all the morning lectures
apparently she wanted to go to a campus nearer to her which makes sense but she applied late so all of them were full except this one
the lecturers understand her situation and make an exception for her instead of marking her absent for all the morning lectures but i don't understand why she even bothers if she has to spend 6 hours a day on the bus just to attend 3 hours of afternoon lectures
