In some cases, a raise in oxLDL is due to LDL giving up its antioxidants and other essential compounds to the tissues they're being sent to in order for the repair or maintenance to be done to whatever's been inflamed, damaged, hurt, infected, or whatever.
NOW…. when you have the means to DIRECTLY induce glycation and oxidation to the HDL and LDL without their being spent like what I described here, this is a sign you have something wrong, or you are deliberately causing this situation to happen.
High LDL could be a reaction to sickness/infection, inflammation, glycation, oxidation, cancer, diabetes, prediabetes/Chronic Randle Cycle Activation Triggered Hyperinsulinemia (CRCATH) which is falsely labeled "Muh Insulin Resistance", or even deficiencies in essential nutrients such as essential fatty acids, (Di-Homo-GLA, Arachidonic Acid, EPA, DPA, and DHA are THE essential fatty acids, LA and ALA are not essential, they are merely precursors) biotin, copper, magnesium, manganese, chromium, potassium, and zinc.
Linoleic acid doesn’t elongate to essential Arachidonic Acid in human physiologies very significantly, the elongating uses most of the same mechanisms as the elongating of ALA into essential EPA, DPA, and DHA.
LA gets oxidized very easily and can contribute in multiple ways to heart disease, that's the fractions that won't get elongated (biochem lengthening in the body) into Arachadonic Acid at the efficiencies of 15 to 25% at the BEST conditions.
