most people here don't actually want good threads

Everyone says they want higher-quality posts, but whenever someone makes an effortpost it gets a handful of replies while the 500th repost, ragebait screenshot, or pointless slapfight hits triple the engagement.

Then people complain the board is "dead" or "falling off."

At some point you have to admit the board is exactly what its regulars reward. If every thoughtful thread gets ignored and every obvious bait gets 200 reppeys, you can't really blame newfags or the jannies. You're training people to post whatever gets attention.

If you think the board has gotten worse, what was the last thread you actually helped keep alive instead of just bumping the daily argument?
