That central courtyard puts in the most work in terms of looking pretty. Vibrant floors help a lot and don't impact work efficiency maybe just don't nuke your base with one stone wall and flagstone of the same stone.

I deleted my old save but now I'm usually building cities/towns with roads and sidewalks, I put neons on the walls and it looks like heccing cyberpunk. The roads are useful since I've got the vehicle mod on, I can relocate APCs to respond to raider pod drops inside the colony, or infestations

Nope, pirate it, play the tutorial and if you liked the tutorial then do whatever, if you hated the combat install CE with rimsort or just buy the basegame and subscribe to it easily and browse plenty of free mod lists on steam, you can use pirated DLCs with the paid base and nophono cares
