<Tynan "Buy my book" Sylvester spaceI used to overbuild my colonists bedrooms, 5x5 floor size is more than enough, room space doesn't have much of an impact on rating, focus on getting some small sculptures early-ish instead
this is kinda min-maxy so don't do it if you don't like the look of it, but a really efficient base plan is to have a big rec room/dining room (you can combine them) in the middle with all the bedrooms connecting straight to it
before I also tried building with steel or stone as soon as possible but don't do it, wood is perfectly fine for early and even mid game
last but most important BUILD A PERIMETER WALL, encircle your entire base with a wooden wall, this will negate a lot of shitty events like mad animals and stuff, incorporate existing mountains to save on resources
