Today it was announced that the founder, songwriter, and lead singer of the American post-grunge rock band 3 Doors Down has died from stage four kidney cancer.
Brad Arnold publicly revealed in May 2025 that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma (a form of kidney cancer) that had metastasized to his lung, which led to the cancellation of the band's summer tour that year.
Arnold was best known for his work on 3 Doors Down's breakout 2000 hit single "Kryptonite", a song he penned when he was only 15 years old (and peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100). "Here Without You" and "When I'm Gone" are among his other popular works that shaped the band's legacy and defined the post-grunge subgenre.
