Samsung is facing growing scrutiny after users and digital-rights advocates raised concerns about AppCloud, an app developed by Israeli-based software company ironSource, which comes pre-installed on several Galaxy A and M series smartphones.

According to widespread user reports, the app is deeply embedded into the operating system, making it difficult — or, in some cases, impossible — to fully remove. Even when disabled, users say AppCloud remains active in the background, reappears after system updates, and is capable of installing additional software without explicit permission.

These claims have fueled a wave of privacy concerns. Users allege that the app collects highly sensitive information, including biometric identifiers, IP addresses, and unique device fingerprints. While Samsung has not publicly confirmed these data-collection practices, the allegations have prompted calls for greater transparency around the app’s purpose and permissions.

Digital rights organizations have urged Samsung to explain why the software is preloaded on devices in certain markets and to offer customers a clear opt-out method. The company has not yet issued a detailed public statement addressing the concerns, but pressure from consumers continues to mount.
