That being said, it wasn't always this much of a DNB. I theorize that most of our fellow shitskins decided to stop being content with being stuck here, and thus proceeded to get VPNs in order to get back to posting on /soy/ ASAP.

/int/ existed long before the brownocaust and was even more of a dnb than it is now, I don't see why it would be removed when it serves a very specific purpose and has more pph than the average board. /soy2/ and /tdh/ both averaged 1-2 pph a week after they were created since people just moved back to /soy/ after jannies dealt with the terrible mouse spam.
