ESLs of Reddit,

Why did you learn English and how has it helped your life?

 β„–248234[Quote]

Back then i played a lot of online games but most of the players were english, i used to just straight up open the google translator and write whatever they said. Years later i started to improve but i still need to understand grammar. Thanks to my knowledge in english i can talk to anyone around the world and discover the humor of the anglo world

I learned it easily since i grew up talking spanish for being born here, and italian by my motherΒ΄s family, wich made a third leanguage not a very hard thing

Payed attention to english classes has much as i could in school mostly by conviction to understanding

I got the diary of a wimpy kid in spanish here but felt curious for the original dialogues, so i saw them online later on in english. The best shit back when i was 12

Also the internet helped, the good think of looking at dank memes when latinx meme culture was still in development to make "la grasa" meme formats in 2016 was to get a good slice of quality comedy early on and also getting my way into politics and news from other countries. During pandemy i watched bbc news and after one month i understood why is flawed bullshit via critic articles.

Overall, i feel proud to get over that before most of the people my age and OLDER, that struggle to learn to speak english and waste thousand of dollars a month in tuitions.

Also by learning it early in life i also understood that is not taht deep and neither it is the "pinacle of success" has people that donΒ΄t speak it say in some places here in Costa Rica.
Also the reason of speaking english fluently here is especially "glazed" in the country because of the bombacious fucking ton of a tourist invasion that happen all year round for Costa Rica being pretty so i also won by unloking all those possible jobs o algo but i would never be that kind of slave

Keyed me
