I don't think I have beef with them tbh tho taxes seems like a pain in the ass cuz I'm used to having the tax be included in the price but over there I've heard that you can see a price and then when they charge you it is higher cuz tax or something like that and it gives me the ick
Oh and also suburbs but not in the 'oh myyyy gooooshhh they're sooo dystopian and such a bad way to organize housing' type of way but more so on the security of em.
Down here every house has a metal gate and then you have access to the door which leads into the house. Even houses in gated communities have these (except some which don't which look like an american suburb inside cuz they have the door at the front but it is still a gated community) so the idea of just having a bunch of houses in 'direct contact' with the outside sorta gives me the ick

Yeah sorta like this if you live in a gated community/condo so there's sorta like 3 levels of security or something
But theres some gated communities which opt out of the house gate are sorta like a mini American suburb on the inside, and therefore they only have 2 levels of security
Also we have what we call 'pasajes' (passageways; pic 2) which aren't gated communities in the traditional sense, but they're transitable streets which often have a gate which is opened and closed by the neighbors as they enter and go out
