Even tho when I went there the locals were a bit mean+the army tried to extort my family or maybe it was all a misunderstanding but it did felt like that

Ill assume like a bigot incel that you meant extorted and that since you're LOW IQ BROWN you spelled it incorrectly Nah just kidding /j
But yeah assuming you meant extorted it went like this
So we were staying at luxor and we had like 5-4 days remaining and we were discussing what to do and like me and my sister wanted to go to the beach which was at hurghada cuz we were getting tired of egyptean street sellers cuz they were very persistent but my older cousin wanted us to go to Abu Simbel which was on the other extreme of the country cuz he already had went there but he wanted us to go there to know the place cuz the temple was gorgeous. Eventually we decide to do both even tho it implies a cross country trip across Egypt but wathever.
So he talks to a taxi driver and asks if it's possible to go from Aswan to Abu simbel and then to urghada by car and the taxi guys says 'yeah I got a contact who would do it for like 100 bucks' so we decide to do it
On the last night on luxor around 22-00:00 we hop on a train to take us to aswan, we arrive there at around 03:00, the drivers contact is waiting for us and he picks us up
Then it is like a 6 hour drive til Abu simbel then we spend like 2-3 hours there and we leave
Then we stop at some city after 4 hours and the driver swaps places with his brother who was going to finish the second part of the drive, we have lunch at a McDonald's by the nile, a weird egyptean dude tries to pseudogroom me at the McDonald's bathroom, and we're off once again.
4-5 hours of more driving and we arrive at the road near luxor (before arriving back into the town tho) which leads to urghada and there's a military checkpoint, and the military stops us and tells us we can't keep going cuz the road closes after 6pm or something like that and we arrived to the checkpoint by 8 pm.
BUT they tell us that if we pay 200 euros/dollars they MAY allow us to pass, but some Hungarian tourists had already been stopped by the military and they said that they did pay but they hadn't let em trough even tho they paid like 2 hours ago, and one of the girls was pretending to be pregnant so they would let em thru but it wasn't working.

So yeah they took away the driver's driving license, my cousin tries to talk to the military along the driver and nothing, my cousin goes to talk with the commander and nothing, my sister starts crying out of nervousness, I'm playing some phone games on my cell phone hoping everything goes well, etc.
After a bunch of yap and nothing happening, we're just waiting to see if something happens. Out of curiosity i start googling stuff like 'road between luxor and urghada', 'military checkpoint scam near luxor', etc and I read some stuff that apparently on the road there's pirates who prey on tourists, tales of drivers asking tourists to hide in the car's trunk to get thru the checkpoint cuz the checkpoint only applies if you're egyptian and carrying tourists, counts of driving on the road between luxor and urghada with the lights off cuz that way the pirates can't see you, etc.
So now with this info I'm like "shit maybe the military dudes have a point better tell my cousin but not my sister cuz she'll only start crying more" and I tell him and we're like 'oh well….' and after no resolution with the military (they also refused to let us at least get to luxor cuz it was like 1 hour away so we could stay there, they said instead to return to aswan even tho it was like 6 hours away) they at least allowed us to stay there on the checkpoint until the next day.
Also my country had tried calling the embassy assuming it was extortion due to the 200 euros part and they didn't pick up.
And as we are waiting on the car since there's nothing we can do apparently, at around 10pm I go like "wait a minute…why don't you try to call the consulate instead? Maybe they do pick up"
My cousin agrees and tries calling and they do pick up but his phone's microphone is busted so he ends the call and asks the driver for his phone and he gives it to him and the consulate picks up again and he explains everything and when he says the 200 euro part the lady on the other end says 'wait that's illegal, let me talk to them' (maybe it was was actually legal and it was all a misunderstanding but maybe my cousin said it in a way she understood it as extortion)
So yeah my cousin and the driver and the lady on the phone go talk with the military, they return by 23:00 and the resolution was that they would allow us to go but to wait until 00:00 to process the situation and so on
On the meanwhile a guard comes to apologize and says 'I really did want to let you guys thru tho' which makes me believe that maybe they were doing something illegal cuz if they were supposed to not let us go thru he wouldn't be apologizing
And then it's 00:00 and they let us go and they also let the Hungarians go (I'm assuming they didn't want to fight the Hungarian consulate too) and I'm like 'yaaay we are able to go!!' But at the same time I'm 'oh shit but what about the pirates' and then I fall sleep, I wake up on a stop we did on a gas station (which had an ihop) to walk a bit on the meantime
And then we go again I fall sleep again and we arrive to urghada at around 6 am
<spacing
Also me and my sister were looking at which hotels to stay in before we embarked this part of the trip and we were like 'let's go with a cheap one to not bankrupt our cousin and our parents' but our cousin was like 'naaahh let's go with this expensive one which is a super resort and don't worry about it we'll make it work' so we felt a bit bad cuz we were sorta ripping him off but we agreed but after the whole saga with the military we no longer felt bad cuz the resort felt earned after that bad experience
