The Sharty was initially populated mostly by groups of /qa/ immigrants who resented anime, and most soyteens upheld that stance on it even up to today because of it generally being popular among trannies (THOUGH nowadays so are soyjaks so that doesn't really mean anything).
It has definitely become far less hated as of recent, especially because of Captain Gem using the Miku gif when xe hacked 4cuck. I figure eventually specific anime gifs and images will just be accepted on /soy/ in the same way frogs or gigas are

I never claimed that it was never posted before then, it was quite a lot actually. All I said was that as the anti-anime mindset lingered throughout, and as such the main argument against it on the site was that it was associated with people like Shitoko
