So, let's say you have 1*2. That equals 2,right? Because that's how math works. And also, that means that when you divide 2 by 1, you get 2, and when you divide 2 by 2, you get 1. See how that works? Now, if we take your equation 1/0=∞, it should follow that 0*∞=1, and that ∞*0=1. But, this isn't the case, because you're just having more 0s. ∞ is not a regular 'number' that you can just plug in like anything else. If you want to understand its function in arithmetic, then you need to go into different stuff like Cantor and so on.

Are you people actually 13 or is the american education system so awful at teaching math? Do you not know about one-sided limits? This is already something that is well defined, the function f(x)=1/x tends to infinity when approaching 0 from the right side (x->0+) and tends to -infinity when x->0-. I learnt this in 9th grade or so.

(((they))) claim you can't divide by zero is because it can be either infinity or negative infinity and because it can't be both they just say it's """undefined""" but all you have to do to make it give only one result is add a negative zero so you have -0 and 0 as separate numbers so when you divide by 0 it's always infinity and it can't be negative infintiy because dividing by -0 will be neg infinity and problem solved now you can divide by zero
