I want to learn a new type of magic but dont know what direction to go in. I like chaos magic and want to learn something that relies entirely on myself. Anyone have any advice or a practice they can point me to?

Mainly protection/combat magic to stay safe and fight off bad spirits that want to mess with me. My servitors do well but they can only go so far and i wanted to learn something stronger.

look up richard ruach on youtube he has some good stuff, although he is a gurdjieff head that is a good place to start. you could check out esoteric christianity and see where it meets the more ancient europaganism since i assume youre a westerner, and as long as you dont get filtered by gnotsticism that is a good place to start for you. just be careful about kabbalah, dont trust jewish magic unless you yourself are a jew and can get the scoop straight from a rabbi
