depends on what you like, rdr2 works better as a wild west simulator, but the story has some gay shit

Aside of topics on race and politics, I just feel like the story is sometimes enganging and sometimes the gang moving from one place to another while talking about snca

same, I enjoyed both but RDR2 was more of a 6 or 7 for me while RDR1 became one of my favorite games of all time. 2 has alot of interetsing features and some of the mechanics are really cool but the base gameplay loop and the missions get old quickly and the gunplay sucks balls so it uses auto aim as a crutch (free aim is an aboslute nightmare in 2) while in 1 the expert aim mode is so fun and the combat is probably the best out of any R* game (excluding Max payne of course). Also alot of the missions in 2 feel like generic sony walking sims

rdr1 is a better cowboy wild west game. more arcadey, more fun.
rdr2 is way more cinematic, bigger and more detailed map, very focused on the narrative.
i personally enjoyed rdr2 way more, its my fav game oat actually. the story and secondary missions were very entretaining imo.
completed the whole game twice, never 100% it because theres a shit ton of animals and boring stuff to do, but the story itself is just amazing.

1 has a lot of classic rockstar issues, like how you start out a story with strong motives and goals and really interesting characters then it devolves into you doing 10 wacky unrelated missions for 10 stupid assholes and then one or two of them betray you and then out of nowhere your character remembers he has shit to do and in the last 3 missions the entire story resolves itself.
Somehow thovgh i remember a lot more from 1 than i do 2, and the final act of 1 is raw kino. Honestly, while 2 has a really awesome almost odyssey like story, 1 just has a better feeling to it. Those bright deserts and gloomy skies, the trumpets of mexico, the long long rides across the deserts, and that feeling when you enter tall trees for the first time, everything feels so much more immersive somehow, even though it's such an old game. I think it's the fact 2 is crammed with so much content and so many unique little hidden areas, you kind of feel the devs presence everywhere you go. In 1, it really feels like you're in the middle of shithead rock and the only town in the world is 3 hours away.
Oh and the bright bright moon making the sand glow at night is so so nice. I love 2 but i prefer the more wild western feel 1 has. 2 feels like an old-timey sim rather than a cowboy sim.

They're both alright. But RDR2 has a ton of tiny little things that impress people who don't really play video games and just waste their life away in the world's most popular hobby because it's socially relevant o algo. The fist game is a better gaming experience, the second has a lot of bloat that doesn't really respect your time, like pretty much all games that are based on Ubisoft's borderline structureless, "I can aimlessly wander anywhere!" open world design.

>>57971I feel like GTA V was even worse about the Ubislop shit. I’ve played it like three times and never considered going after even one of the thrembillion snca collectibles. Watch Dogs 2 is more fun to fuck around in

>>57973>GTA VI played it once right after I played RDR2. The fact that GTA is as popular as it is, is irrefutable proof that developers and publishers and wokeness are not the only reason why most games suck. Most people just have awful taste and zero respect for their own time, and that means the products pushed out will be bad. GTA is only interesting to people who desperately want to live out degenerate fantasies. GTA is only liked because of the theme, not the gameplay or story.

>>58010I think the Wild Bunch would better fit the "What I expected" part because RDR 1 was basically a very loose adaptation of that movie, but otherwise a troofnuke
