the xbox 360 is one of my favorite game consoles, but some games play kinda slow on it nowadays and i want to know if there is some way to upgrade the hardware in it.
or at least create a type of PC that can run and boot into the 360 bios thing so i can just pretend its a real xbox 360.
is this possible? is there a way to do this? i like minecraft 360 edition but i dont like the lag spikes.

download Xenia Canary, most recent gamepatches, and go to vimm's lair (vimm.net) to download games (depending on the game you'll have to use inspect element to show the download button)

Download your game of choice, if it has a gamepatches open that up and apply whatever ya need, I'd recommend 60FPS patch and anything to remove annoying postprocessing effects like bloom, motion blur, etc.

If a game has multiple discs (Forza Motorsport 4, GTA V) you might have to look up a guide

Only three real caveats: you need a decent PC to run it well (Google suggests i7 10700K/RTX 2060/16GB DDR4 for 60FPS at 1080p, but the CPU is by far more important), there isn't really a way to play online, and compatibility is just fucked on some games (Black Ops 2 is one example).

Minecraft should ideally run great. I've personally used Xenia to play the original Gears of War trilogy (1, 2, 3) and it runs fantastic at 60 FPS with only minor graphical/audio glitches

If you don't have a PC for Xenia, next best option would be a Series X, lots of 360 games are backwards compatible (unfortunately, Minecraft XB360 isn't one of them) and have even received patches to run at higher resolutions and framerates (up to 4K/60FPS on some)

If you have a decent PC you should be able to emulate it without a problem, and you can plug in an XBOX360 controller to get the full experience. The PC will cost a lot doebeit. Otherwise some games are backwards compatible on later xboxs but not all because microsoft are lazy little jeets.

btw does anybody here have both a ps3 and an xbox 360, i'm thinking of getting a ps3 slim with the CPUs that allowed for full CFW so i can pirate the games i want, which i can't really do with the 360, but is there a clear advantage here? I haven't played them yet but the metal gear series looks fun and the ps3 can play every single game in it. Halo would be the main advantage for me with the 360, but I don't want to pay the jews at microsoft to play online on the 20 year old console. Is the Ps3 absolute raisin I should avoid and the xbox360 is clearly better, or are they close enough

I'd like to play das 'craft on it too and I heard the ps3 version runs a bit better if that matters

oh and I could buy the PC master chief collection if i really felt like playing halo too without the risk of microsoft choosing to JSID any day

Online for the 360-era Halo games was shut down in 2022, the only way to "officially" play them online is through the MCC. Honestly, unless you really want that "OG feel" the MCC is probably the best option overall for playing the old Halos, not only do they have functional online but they also run a lot better and have official mod support.

And about MGS, the only "PS3 exclusive" MGS is 4, which can either be emulated (needs decent PC), or you can buy the port coming in August as part of MC2. I'd personally say it's not worth buying a PS3 only for MGS unless you're gonna check out other exclusives, even then most of the big-name ones can still either be emulated and/or have better versions on PS4/PS5.

I don’t know about Xenia, but my pc has the same specs you mentioned other than the gpu being a 3060Ti, and it can barely pull 30 fps on Xemu

i can make whatever pc i need. i just want to not be able to tell the difference between it and the real deal.

I also want to play other exclusives on PS3, its just that that is the main one. In the UK so many of the games can be found in our equivalent of gamestop for less than Β£5 each, so I want to play the PS3 so that I can have easy access to these older games along with pirating anything that is hard to find or too expensive. I'm going to uni soon so I won't have a big PC, so the PS3 would give me a bunch of games to play and I can play with friends o algo.
I wasn't aware Microsoft JSID with Halo on the 360
