I also watched my dad play games, but then I would ask him to control the character or to have my own save. I have a terraria save dating to when I was 6 and I managed to get up to the wall of flesh while still a caca. Also would play mario kart wii, super circuit, yoshis island, warioware, etc, most of which my dad must have either shown me first or I watched him play and wanted to try as well to start with
I like watching people on jewtube playing games but I never watch streams. The whole point is that I can see different ways to progress through a game, something too time-consuming for me to try or an idea to try in an edited format, otherwise i would just spend the fucking time to play it myself.
My sister could have played games with me or watched my dad but she was never too interested. She played some SNCA baby games on a tablet for a while, now she is in the trance of the jewish algorithm and plays/played deltarune, undertale, splatoon and zelda. I've tried to encourage her to play some of the older zelda games to play something good but she shows no interest.
