>Improved gameplay
>better textures
>can play as not only Luigi but Wario and Yoshi as well
>20 more stars to get
>new Stages
>minigames and multiplayer
>can switch to analog controls

but always gets ignored for not having movement like 64

 β„–53765[Quote]

I have no childhood nostalgia 64 everytime i play it i think its aged like shit. DS is the only version i've ever been able to enjoy playing

 β„–53771[Quote]

the only thing i really disliked about 64 DS was that the power ups were locked depending of the character (i.e only wario could use the metal cap), that was pretty jewish

I didn't play it as a child but I really enjoyed it.
>always gets ignored for not having movement like 64
Its a platformer. The movement is the most important aspect. The original 64 version has better controls and is a good game, and ev&oe they added new shit to it in the DS port having to use the stylus or d-pad is a huge loss. It isn't a surprise that a remaster of a game that isn't a straight upgrade gets forgotten

I liked the original, should I play this version? Are the controls really as bad as they're made out to be?

There are patches that add proper analog control support back in while emulating. If you can get that working, that's how you should play it. The game is genuinely good, but on actual hardware the analog controls are limited to using the touchscreen

soyboys need their bing bing exactly as it was 30 years ago

Pretty much.
>that's not exactly how I remembered it 30 years ago! It is… LE BAD!!!!
Then they go ahead and worship genuinely bad remakes/remasters anyway.
I've noticed that faithful remakes and remasters that add meaningful content get blasted for not being the same, and remakes that warp the original really hard get worshiped. OoT and MM 3D get hit the hardest, the dungeons aren't dark enough (a fair and frankly correct opinion), but they use this point of real criticism to shoehorn their way into getting mad at literally every other change in the game because their nostalgia wasn't coddled to a degree where it becomes detrimental to a remake. I've seen people get genuinely upset about the 3D model of the bottle on OoT 3D. They even get mad about the 2D images used in the inventory screen. It really shows people haven't been paying attention to all of the official art that Nintendo has been using for almost 30 years and are just counting on their memories of playing it a week before Wind Waker released.

Anyway, yeah, most people have bad opinions when it comes to video games. They get caught up in their personal emotions and very flawed memories and can't look past them to see a project for what it really is.

The hate the 3D Zelda remakes get is weird, especially MM. And they always just repeat the exact same few criticisms
>muh zora swimming
>muh graphics not heckin scary enough
>being able to save anywhere le bad
It's all because that one obsessed faggot made a video about why it was le bad, and internet retards have no original thought of their own so they just brainlessly repeat what he said

Tsmt mario 64 is shit

 β„–54619[Quote]

Play it on the 3DS so you can move with the joystick

 β„–54620[Quote]

>>54619
Having tried that, it does help, but at the same time it still doesn't seem to be proper analog

 β„–54623[Quote]

>>54489
The bosses did get a downgrade though

 β„–54636[Quote]

you just disagree because you want to be a contrarian like all autists are on this site. I genuinely want you to make a serious refutation as to why the constant removing of player choice and features from the real game was LE GOOD. When the creator of the game only hates the original because he had to rush it in a year and because it’s somehow too hard for him

 β„–54640[Quote]

>>54636
whatever, zelda sucks since day 1 and f-zero mogs it

 β„–54648[Quote]

>>53627 (OP)
The new characters were fun but it kinda sucked that some stars/powers were locked to single characters which just made it feel like mario was split across 4 characters

>>muh graphics not heckin scary enough
This is valid though.
OoT was the right balance of serious, bizarre, and vibrance.
All the games afterwards are all focusing on one aspect and only manage to barely do good at that point.
