The bigger problem is that 99.999% of all people have no idea how to balance a game or make a game fun to play. They usually assume "I are goodest at weapon/thing, that mean all weapon/thing should be exactly like this weapon/thing." Congratulations, you've just made the game boring by stripping variety from the game. Or they assume "I are goodest at this weapon/thing, that means this weapon/thing is goodful and nothing should change, because making other weapon/thing goodful will make my weapon less goodful." Congratulations, you've made it a one weapon/thing game and made it boring. It gets real bad when "competitive" "pros" show up with videos comparing weapons on STATIC targets. This does not represent real gameplay at all.

The idea that weapons should have different strong points and different kinds of balance adjustments outside of raw damage just goes over the heads of most people. Soyboys don't understand this but love to get into 4+ year long arguments about theoretical performance. They are not capable of deep or malleable thought, they react based on surface level feelings.
