imagine if Mortal Kombat Trilogy somehow had the rest of the MK1 stages like Palace Gates, Warrior Shrine and Shang Tsung's Throne Room…

given that The Courtyard, The Pit and Pit Bottom all had MK3 soundtracks, I have to wonder what MK3 soundtracks Palace Gates, Warrior Shrine and Throne Room would've had if they had to have Mortal Kombat 3 background music.

I never really liked mkt but i played a lot the n64 version when i was a kid. The emulator ran so bad it slowed down constantly, i could see the game cheat.
And the mk1 stages were the worst by far so i'm glad we had few, i would have prefered none seeing how bad they looked with the mk3 characters. That dissonance between characters and stage is also the reason i don't like mugen.

CD versions:
> Courtyard: Rooftop BGM
> Goro's Lair: Soul Chamber BGM
> The Pit (with the Pit II sky): Balcony/Pit 3 BGM
> The Pit Bottom: Balcony/Pit 3 BGM

Nintendo 64 version:
> Courtyard: Bank BGM
> Goro's Lair: Smoke's Hidden Portal BGM
> The Pit (night sky): Rooftop BGM
> The Pit Bottom: Rooftop BGM

which MK3 BGM would be more fitting for Palace Gates, Warrior Shrine and Shang Tsung's Throne Room?
