If you like isometric, turn based rpgs, play Fallout 1 then 2. Warning doe, events play out at certain times and the story doesn't wait for you. You can fail by taking too long at some points to do your quests.
If you like above + real time squad based strategy, try Fallout Tactics, but I would recommend the first two before.
If you want a more strightforward, fps/rpg open world, play Fallout 3, then Fallout: New Vegas.
If you just really want like an fps, looter/shooter, collect-a-thon, crafting/base building, "muh heckin Skyrim with guns", then play Fallout 4.

Trannies are a very vocal audience that is for some reason decided to attach themselves to it. Also the game has some npc's which are gay.
It's not really that big a deal, its much like most other forms of media/franchises that have becoming mainstream, just don't interact with them, and if the gay npc's thing really bugs you, here is a caveat. In NV, any and all, barring one, npc can be killed. So kill and eat 'em if you want, I don't know.

New Vegas is considered troonslop because its the one everybody knows, so of course all the trannies like it too.

Personally I recommend Fallout 4 as the entry-level title because its the most beginner-friendly and easy to learn. The other ones have a bit more of a skill curve in regards to combat and crafting.

But if you really want a more challenging introduction to the series, I would play Fallout 1 and 2. They require a lot more learning (since they're from the days when there was no such thing as a tutorial and you were expected to learn everything from reading the physical game manual that came with the CD-ROM copy of the game) and lots of strategy since they are turn-based isometric games and not real-time FPS like the newer ones.

Also don't worry about playing them in chronological order. Each one has a different story and protagonist and (usually) aren't connected in any major way.

In all seriousness, Old World Blues is genuine dogshit, you just go through identical facitilites shooting lobotomites and inbetween you have to listen to 5 Ricks from Rick and Morty try to entertain you with reddit humor.
And I agree that Dead Money sucks ass, it's fucking tedious shit where you just crawl through the copy-pasted buildings pressing buttons, activating computers and talking to retards and in the end you're supposed to just leave with nothing after having wasted 7 hours on that shit, good thing the devs are retards and you can just steal all the gold and run.

Dead Money was the first DLC I played and I HATED it because of how difficult it was (I had the smart idea to play it on a low level my first run), but I get what you mean
