how did it take you 25 hours to beat the game? Do you have mild to severe brain damage

>I really liked that there were no cutscenes This is actually one of the reasons it was groundbreaking at the time. You may be used to environmental storytelling now, where characters talk around you while you're free to move about, but back in 2004 this was almost always done via cutscenes. Walking into a room and having Dr. Vance just started talking instead of pausing to load a video blew people away 20 years ago. Hard to imagine huh.

>You in 2025: "Pick up that can"? Why is the game forcing me to interact with an object in the world? Boring! >Them in 2004: "Pick up that can"? You mean to tell me I can interact with an object in the world? GOTY! Chud 12/26/25 (Fri) 01:44:16 β 47192 [Quote]

Spicy wall incoming: One of the oldest cancers in gaming is the total disregard for replayability, or having "forced" replayability with meaningless collectables and idiotic diaries and voicelogs. The games just aren't naturally fun to actually play more than once or twice. If the fun wears out after a few hours or after the first playthrough, then your creation isn't very good. 4/v/ and Reddit are one and the same because they ignore the gameplay aspect and act like everything else can make up for it. You can enjoy that first playthrough as a piece of raw entertainment or distraction from life, but that doesn't mean it's a good game by an any objective standard that takes into account the defining aspect of video games. This is why 4/v/ keeps thinking VN's are games, even though they're mediocre games at best, or glorified digital copies of choose your own adventure books at worst. Halo was always better, btw. Older PCfags are just eternally ass ravaged over 2 having a bad PC port and not getting the other games until 2020.

>>47147 (OP) The only people who soy out about it are nostalgiafagging millennials (because half-live was actually technically impressive at the time) and parasitic zoomer secondary fans who haven't actually played the games and only shit post

>>47347 i didnt know PC players had a problem with Halo, thought it was only the redditors who hate the "bro shooters" (which didnt even exist really)
