The music is pretty good and the world is beautiful but everything else ranges from awful to just okay.

Open-World exploration is slow and the stamina bar is total cancer, puzzles/combat are really easy, enemies just stand around and attack once every few second.

Story is… Well it's really really wordy and treats the player like a child, there's no option to even skip it and from what I heard, later story quests can last up to 8 hours.

What's the appeal? I genuinely don't get it, the character designs aren't even that good, they're overdesigned and so busy to look at.

At this point probably yes, by now they're just hooked because gacha. Like in full fairness to the game, it was genuinely impressive for a game you could run on your fucking cellphone. People still playing it are just deep into sunken cost hell

Just play something else, Gacha games are not worth your time.
I would not recommend Genshin in 2026 because the game is too overwhelming for new players. It is also another thing that people will fall into gambling addiction for a png character.
