Enable Nvidia Smooth Motion for a huge framerate boost with no discernible effect on the visuals. I was dropping down to below 50 with certain things on screen but after enabling this it doesn't go below 150 fps.
Just add eu5.exe to the Nvidia app and enable Smooth Motion.

one bug i found that is potentially game breaking: when you expand an RGO there's no confirmation to decrease it again and it automatically destroys the building, so i guess just don't do that for now
