This film is set during the 19th century. I wish I had
access to some of the research I made during that period in time because it would probably be illuminating in particular. Basically I think this film is set during that period in time because itβs the most pertinent to the consciousness and social causes that take place in the film but I canβt really be sure from first glance.
I think the main characters are supposed to represent workers, and the fact that theyβre mining in the beginning is important to the films general message. Mining played a big role in the history of the workers movements. Itβs suggested there are of course different classes and workers throughout the world, but the main characters are particularly removed and different for some reason. I think a lot of the story and plot has to do with the technology in the film, which is largely fictional since itβs steampunk, but the meaning inferred has to do with the core component of what steam punk stands for as a genre and careful usage of the technology that is utilized in the stream technology, thereβs some
Kind of Victorian history behind it all. Painstaking detail was placed into the technology and machinery that actually exists in the film and like I said, is a part of the actual story itself, or at least youβll learn more trying to understand what itβs about.
I really want to learn much more and decipher the film. But anyway
