it's bad for very different reasons. in-fact it's bad for diametrically opposite reasons. gnome is designed for toddlers, KDE is designed for people who like context menus with 100 items and stupid fucking console and file explorer widgets embedded into programs they don't belong in. gnome is too simple, KDE is too complicated.
