The more time I actually spend writing these stupid lab reports in latex the more I realize how shitty all of the typesetting options are.
Like honestly, the only reason latex is still around is the fact it's FOSS and uuuh well free and nerds liked it back in the day, that's it. It's legacy software that to this day has no equal.
Thinking about it, I believe that without LLMs and this ai bs it would have completely died even in the academic setting, it would have been replaced by the pleasures and adventures you'll have to endure should you choose msword and office 365 when working on a larger scale documents.
I got assigned this retarded lab co-worker who was all excited but damn, he's fucking retarded. What's even worse, he apparently can't write anything himself. All his stuff reeks of ai, he emulates my notation without understanding the system. This man will never in his life, never, write a working latex document on a blank slate of paper. Never. He doesn't understand. He doesn't understand Matlab either, the only thing simple enough is C.
With this as a part of the elite academia, latex will inevitably die. LLMs are just soft-delaying the extinction, but once the bubble pops, this typesetting option will be gone and you VILL UZE ZE CLAUD, YU VILL EAT ZE BUGS AND YU VILL ENTER MATH FORMULAS IN WORD BY HAND FROM THE UPPER TAB.
