Arch is troonware. Not just because of the userbase, but because the AUR and systemd are horrible. I need not explain why. And the package manager and init system is literally the only thing that sets apart a “DIY” distro.
If you want a learning experience I recommend Gentoo but only on an entertainment PC. Not that Gentoo can’t be stable, but that (You) will mess it up. I personally find ricing an old shitbox to play games as fast as possible more fun than playing many games.
