it works for me, youtube, so i dont see the point in switching to another thing but if invidious isnt just youtube vids i'll consider it, i use Odysee, YouTube, New Grounds, and a ton of peoples personal websites where they host videos and podcasts, like the dick show for instance, considering rumble and floatplane too but i'd have to move all my videos over(i like making vids) and thats a big hassle but if its worth it its worth it

oh also i'm using linux mint cinnamon with B00merang's windows 7 theme and icons pack but i also have kool hyperland installed for when i feel like using hyperland and not a windows like DE, also for gaming i use the windows like DE because for some reason even when every widget is turned off and i'm in the "gaming" mode half my games refuse to run or run poorly

What is the point of hosting it for privacy unless you buy a VPS? And then it’s going to cost as much as YT premium. Just use an adblocker or something like freetube and a VPN (and put it on the VPS instead)

120hz panel on the panasonic is a cool flex. Did you overclock it? Mine overclocks from 60 to 96hz at 1080p

may underclock it for better battery life, never got into clocking but i got this to be a longer battery life mobile machine, also wanna buy moar batteries for it but they're expensive sadly

I'm not sure if its old enough, but it could be one of those CFL backlit ones. Converting to LED if there is a kit would be biggest change. You could also try undervoling and messing with TLP. WiFi cards on these older machines are especially wasteful. Also SSD if you haven't already

The packs themselves probably are but usually you can buy your own cells and replace them in the pack. You may need a spot welder and nickel strips doe. I've even seen 3D printed extended capacity ones

Colder silicon also has more resistance (and less need for fans) so thermal paste might be worth it.
