Kind of related: Software focused dudes usually really bother me because most of them don't really get speaker design and placement. Not all subwoofers are created equal, so you can't just "dude just buy a sub lmao!" you way through it. That approach is what turns people away from subwoofers. The majority of them are bloated fart boxes or are configured poorly. Ported subwoofers can sound very good and "clean/tight", but only a half dozen or so brands can accomplish this. Sufficiently large, higher powered, sealed subwoofers can reach deep with authority with room extension when placed in a small/medium, sealed rooms, which most studios are. A minimum of 2 subwoofers are recommended for serious setups. Don't cross them over above 80Hz, and probably don't cross them over lower than 60Hz unless you have utterly insane tower speakers and a ridiculous amount of amplification. Corner loading can be good, but it can also be bad and cause muddy or sucked out bass. Use a room mode calculator to find out where you should place them. A properly selected, placed, and calibrated pair of subwoofers WILL sound better than any full range speaker, no matter what.

shitty 10 dollar headphones have bass if you add it in through EQ

>>25007Yeah, but some people erroneously believe headphones can have a really meaningful soundstage and insist on open back.

>>26895https://www.autoeq.app/This helps a lot for any headphones but yeah some are just so bad they can’t possibly good sound. Either high and low is nonexistent and therefore you can’t EQ them in or weird resonance or sometimes combinations of low and high that aren’t produced as expected. They are great for things like buds or open backs that have terrible bass or weird curves
