ignore all the shit about arch linux, but also don't use arch linux as your first OS
Try and use a beginner friendly distro to see what you like, get used to using the console for stuff, and get used to using package managers

linux mint is exactly the same as windows, you can even install windows 7 or 10 theme to be more easier, i remember i installed a windows 7 theme on mint and i was actually often forgetting that i use linux

That depends how much you know tech
Even if you've never used linux before, but can deal with a bit of tweaking, you can skip past the "beginner" distros and go to something mid tier

go up

Just use mint and go from there. Try setting up a little network on your wifi? You'll start to appreciate it more.

same as op is it true you can just put all your important stuff on an ntfs drive and distrohop and use windows without having to reinstall everything all the time

mint de is ugly imo just use kubuntu
kde plasma is the closest thing that resembles windows
