paint.net is better. it has better filters. paint.net filters can be used in combination to achieve almost any effect imaginable. krita and other image editors have weird ass niche filters that nobody gives a fuck about, like "rain drops", or "fire".

i use it every day and it's a piece of shit. i run windows in a VM specifically so i can use paint.net

remarkable that you can develop a piece of software for 30 years and still have it be a piece of shit. i mean, i still install it on every machine because it does have some features and workflows that are very good - but it's better viewed as a utility than a complete, usable piece of software. you should look at gimp as like, the same way you look at ffmpeg or something.

GIMP's non-desructive effects are way more powerful than Photoshop's wimpy "adjustment layers". This isn't the old days of GIMP 2 and older. GIMP 3 is really good and can potentially beat Photoshop

TSMT. i only use GIMP as a replacement for the default drawing tool which absolutely sucks balls. if i want to make OC i just go on my windows computer and use Photoshop
