I don't think 50W of heating makes a meaningful contribution to keeping a room warm

anyway the light you get from an incandescent bulb is mostly infrared light, which increases blood flow and "perception of heat" when it hits your skin therefore increasing heating efficiency

HVAC is over 100% efficient retard. But yes, infrared is much better at heating objects (and people) than heating the air around them. And you lose less to poor insulation that way. But you can also do infrared heating with HVAC via radiators

The emission spectrum of LED is still terrible for your eyes and sleep. Plus most strobe 24/7 like fluorescent lights which probably also fucks with your brain. I believe I can notice this in my peripheral vision as well as CRTs but I could just be a schizo

I can't stand all of the "daylight" color temperature gaslighting that goes on in lighting. The Sun is not tinted blue. It's not even pure white at noon during summer. Most artificial lighting, especially at night, in the evening, and early morning, should match natural non-sun lighting, which is regular red fire, which just so happens to be a very warm color temperature.

heaters use natural gas which are able to convert nearly 100% of the energy stored in hydrocarbon into heat, whereas electrical generators that make electricity from gas only have an efficiency of 50%.. So using electricity to produce heat is inefficient.

Pretty much everyone I see has their screens turned up to high brightness. My phone and computer are turned down, it feels better this way (even if somephonos will whine about muh color accuracy)

What about night light? That should in theory mitigate all these issues. I use it and it doesn't strain my eyes in the morning.

i just use whatever is cheap.
