start with linux mint or an easy arch distro like endeavourOS or cachyOS i would recommend cachyOS cuz its optimized for speed and gaming its also arch based and has its own proton version also i use artix-dinit

If you have the latest nvidia cards you need the cuda driver nvidia-open (which is not nouveau), mind that you need to learn how to verify the dkms status because if it fails you'll have to learn to pull it and install from tty eventually
