buy ram and storage asap if you'll be needing more in the next 3 years. gpu price increases are next (they use ram chips)

I'm glad I'm set until a couple years after the next consoles come out. And even then I'll only need a new CPU and GPU. Intel wasn't even on my radar a 3 years ago when I built my current PC. The motherboard lifespans are trash, but they cost basically the same as the ones from AMD.

this was like 80 bucks not two weeks ago and I was waiting until black friday to buy a second set, it's over xisters, time to ropemaxx

I feel ya broski. I was planning in upgrading my 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz kit to a 2x16GB DDR4 3600MHz one but now I can't buy shit thanks to this whole shortage

It's the same shit as when bitcoin miners were buying gpus in bulk inflating the price. I actually don't know if the price went down or no but the outcome for RAM and HDD hardware will be the same

Well it's kind of interesting, because retarded gamers are the reason they feel they can charge so much. This is consumer RAM sold in small quantities, not the huge bulk orders that companies buy up. If gaymers weren't such consumer whore subhumans, the prices would still have gone up, but they wouldn't have even doubled. In reality it's not even half as bad as the crypto fad, because at least with that everyone was able to make passive income with a a few GPUs. That's not true with this RAM situation.

went to walmart and picked up a second 2x16gb DDR5 kit for $140, apparently mine hasn't updated their prices yet so I was still able to get in on it before they go up to the $250-ish range. Idk if it's the same for any of you but I would check, seems like the only viable option at the moment.
